Shabby Chic express

Esta mañana me levanté con ganas de encarar uno de esos proyectos fáciles, rápidos y bonitos que podemos empezar y terminar en un rato, y resultan por tanto especialmente motivadores para aquellas que no tienen mucha paciencia con trabajos largos y tediosos :) Hace mucho tiempo vi en Pinterest una idea que me inspiró y la guardé en mi "archivo mental", sabiendo que tenía en casa todo lo necesario para realizarla en el momento adecuado. Se trataba de este exquisito porta-bijou:

Para realizar mi versión del mismo, sólo tuve que buscar un viejo bastidor de bordar que no utilizaba desde hace años, retazos de encaje -reciclado de un adorno de torta-, un trozo de cinta blanca, ¡y ya estaba lista para comenzar!


El primer paso fue colocar una pieza de encaje entre los dos aros de madera, cuidando de que quedara perfectamente tensa (tal como si fuera a bordar en ella) y cortar justo por el borde inferior con una tijera muy afilada. Hecho esto, retiré la tela del bastidor y apliqué a éste una mano de látex blanco mate.


Mientras secaba la pintura, tomé una franja de encaje -que como puede verse contaba ya con una puntilla aplicada en ambos bordes- y la dividí al medio en forma longitudinal.


Uní los extremos de las franjas así obtenidas, las fruncí usando la máquina de coser para obtener un volado muy shabby chic, y lo apliqué alrededor del círculo de tela que había cortado antes.


Una vez que los aros de madera estuvieron completamente secos, utilicé una lija fina para desgastarlos en algunas partes y así darles un efecto envejecido.


Luego, sólo restaba volver a colocar la pieza de encaje en el bastidor, añadirle un trozo de cinta para colgarlo... y listo!

 
 
 
 
 

Tiempo total de trabajo: menos de media hora (el empleado en tomar las fotos no cuenta jejeje) Costo total: $ 000. Y una ventaja adicional: al no estar pegado a la madera, el encaje puede ser retirado para su lavado tantas veces como sea necesario...

this is lovely! a great idea,....and do you know? lol...I happen to have needed an idea for my earrings which is the only thing left in my "new" bedroom I haven't figured out! this is perfect! and I love your earring too, would wear them every day! lol hugs.
